I believe her head is too big (even if I know there is a 'shortcut', as the head is not aligned with the shoulders), and her hair doesn't go low enough on her forehead. Maybe I'm wrong though :)

The rest is quite impressive, especially the hand :p

This is absolutely amazing! You're so talented, you're work is a real pleasure to look at. I'm in denial that it was painted digitally - my brain refuses to believe that you can create such subtle, delicate tones on the computer! *bows in awe* She has the most gorgeous cheeky expression, and that hand just blows me away. Okay, I'm hooked. I'm adding you to my favourite artist list! :)

Thanks for the comments. This is my daughter and yes, she does have my forehead as seen in "Young Artist" (a self-portrait).

Awesome!!!

Crit: The hair looks like you set it on top of her head. It doesnt feel connected.

Nice portrait. I know it's digital, but it gives me the impression of colored pencil work.

I love the texture and technique of making it look like colored pencil. Very nice and a very cute girl. Agree with Mol, I would love to see a few little hairs at the hairline to smooth the transition from hair to forehead.

I guess I will have to fix that hairline! I think it is strange that it looks like colored pencil. It certianly wasn't intentional but I guess that is the medium I work in off the computer it only stands that it would shine through...also I guess I don't know how to paint so I just use the same techniques.

Maybe now that I am getting a hang of the wacom I will venture soon to do something a little more ... creative. Thanks for your input and encouragement.

Hi Sally, I find this one to be the best of your works this far! I mean, this artwork is something that i would hang on my wall! A good piece of modern fine art! I hope to see more like this one! So simple yet so nice!

really great stuff. I don't think the brown surface she's supporting herself on is deserving of the peice, though. Otherwise, it's really inspiring! I'm just picking up on "painting" in photoshop and seeing other's works really helps and keeps me inspired. You're very talented and I love your subjects. :)
